Assistant Site Manager, Based Seton Hall, Berwick, Northumberland
Our Ascent Homes team have ambitious plans for 2025, with a number of new sites starting and significant growth planned in our 5-year business plan. As one of our Assistant Site Managers, you will report to the Site Manager and support the management of the construction phase of a scheme, ensuring build is on time and to the quality standards expected. You will liaise with sub-contractors on the development, ensuring health and safety is maintained at all times. You will liaise with our partners, ensuring the build is completed to time

Telehandler Operator
Ascent Homes is the house building brand of Advance Northumberland. The development company wholly owned by Northumberland County Council. Passionate about building high quality new homes, with locations right across Northumberland we hand pick our stunning locations to ensure we create unique homes to complement and enhance their individual surroundings.
We are looking for a Telehandler Operator to join our Northumberland based construction team. As Telehandler Operator you will be responsible for ensuring that all materials, either stored in the site compounds or designated area, are unloaded and transported to the workplace, in accordance with site requirements and in a safe and responsible fashion.
Competitive Salary - 39hrs per week Monday to Friday, opportunity for overtime
Main Responsibilities:
Comply with health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
Assist in ensuring that the correct materials are provided at the right time to the right workplace in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsible for ensuring that the needs of the sub-contractors are handled efficiently.
Regularly liaising with the Site Manager to confirm the work demands are met.
Ensure that the plant under your control is properly serviced. Reporting to the Site Manager any repairs, breakdowns, incidents or deficiencies in the plant used.
Report to the Site Manager any careless use of company materials by sub-contractors and any failure of sub-contractors to act responsibly regarding basic health, safety & environmental requirements.
Monitor waste segregation on site and ensure any sub-contractors who do not comply with waste management are notified to the Site Manager
When required, attend any additional training courses arranged by the Company
The role involves working at heights and the use of small hand tools, as directed by the Site Manager
To succeed in this role:
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate key skills and experience in the following key areas:
Certified Telehandler Operator with construction site experience
Hold a current and valid CSCS Card.
Ideally hold both suspended loads and slinger/signaller training certificates and be experienced in using Truss jib attachments. Training will be provided to assist in this procedure or to confirm and/or update existing experience
