Helping You Move

At Ascent Homes, we strive to deliver exceptionally crafted homes, benefiting from expert build and design quality, whilst providing homebuyers with the range of options to suit their circumstances. All of this is reinforced by our exceptional customer service and dedication to customers, ensuring they are as proud of their new homes as we are.

We make it our priority to ensure we are there with you along every step of the journey, making sure you are kept abreast of where you sit along the home buying process. As such, we have developed this easy guide to assist you.

  • Once you have chosen which Ascent Home you want to purchase, our specialist sales team will assist you in completing the reservation paperwork. You will also need to pay your reservation deposit which will secure your new home.

  • If you are taking out a mortgage to purchase the property, you will have already spoken to a financial advisor to check affordability and what is possible. However, to offer further assistance and reassurance, we have a team of impartial experts on hand should you require them. We know the financial side of buying a property can be a little overwhelming, so if there are any questions you have, we can be sure to provide you with the answers you need, quickly and succinctly. Finding the right package to suit you is key.

After receiving your mortgage offer, now is the time to let us know and instruct your legal advisors.

  • To handle the procedural aspects of buying a property, you need to instruct a legal advisor to act on your behalf. Again, we are more than happy to suggest truly independent experts that are familiar with our procedures and documentation if you are unsure. It will be down to them to handle the transfer of ownership - known as conveyancing. As there are various fees to pay to legal advisors, it is important you ask up front for a breakdown of what they are and when they need to be paid - this will make sure you know exactly what to expect and can see the full scope of the solicitor’s involvement.

  • Once the solicitor gives you the go ahead that they are happy with all the details, and the mortgage offer is in place, you can sign and exchange the contract for the property.

This will be supported by the exchange of contract deposit. This means that you are now very close to owning your dream Ascent home.

  • Now is the time where you can start to make your house your own. If you are purchasing a property that is yet to be completed, you may be able to personalise with certain choice and options. This will typically include the finish and fitting in the kitchen, as well as tiles and flooring. We are proud of our high level of standard specification, but you may be able to enhance this by choosing from our wide range of optional extras. Our experienced Sales Executives will guide you through the options and help you visualise using sample boards and brochures as well as giving practical advice to help you make your decision.

Some options are subject to the build stage of your chosen property, so please speak with our sales team.

  • As the completion date nears, our dedicated team will keep you fully up-to-date with the progress and the projected date when it will be ready to move into.

  • To help you to understand how your home is built and demonstrate to you how you can make the best use of the fittings and appliances within your new home, we will arrange a visit for you with the Site Manager and Sales Consultant. This will allow you to see the progress of the new home and ensure you get the most out of it.

  • The moment you have been waiting for. Once the balance of the purchase price has been received by Ascent Homes, we can legally complete the sale. This is when you get your keys to the property and the handover team will welcome you to your new home.

  • This is not the end of our journey together, our team will be on hand to help from the day you move in up until you have lived there for up to two years.
