Jamie's double first at Hemingway Court

WITH A BURNING DESIRE TO GET ON TO THE PROPERTY LADDER WHILE STILL IN HIS EARLY TWENTIES, ADMIN ASSISTANT, JAMIE HITCHCOCK THOUGHT HE’D NEVER BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO LIVE IN PONTELAND NEAR THE REST OF HIS FAMILY. THAT WAS UNTIL THE AWARD-WINNING ASCENT HOMES, DECIDED TO REDEVELOP THE OLD LIBRARY SITE IN THE HEART OF THE VILLAGE.

As part of its Section 106 Agreement at planning stage, Ascent Homes incorporated four one-bedroom DMV (Discount Market Value) apartments into its recently completed Hemingway Court development which boasts a stunning selection of one and two-bedroom apartments and penthouses.

Under the DMV initiative, buyers who meet key criteria, can purchase properties at a significantly discounted rate.

Delighted at getting the opportunity to buy his first home in his perfect location, rather than be confined to long term renting, Jamie, who is the first resident to move in to Hemingway Court, said:

“When I saw the artist’s impressions of the apartments at Hemingway Court, I thought they looked fantastic, but that they’d probably be out of my price range.  However, when I spoke to the sales team at Ascent Homes, who were incredibly helpful throughout the buying process, it soon became obvious that some of the apartments would be sold at the discounted rate. This meant that I could not only get on the property ladder, I could buy a brand new, contemporary apartment right in the centre of Ponteland.

“Although my apartment is a one-bed, it has plenty of space and is so well fitted out I can imagine living there for a long time.”

Ascent Homes’, head of sales and marketing, Claire Scott, added:

“I am thrilled that someone as young as Jamie has chosen to buy his first home with us.  Hemingway Court is proving to be very popular with all ages. Only one DMV apartment remains for sale and we’ve already sold one of the penthouses.

“I believe the popularity is down to great design, the high-quality finish and the great service and support that my team and I give to every buyer.  We truly want people to love living in their homes and take great pride when we get such positive feedback from buyers.”
