Flagship Ellington housing development shortlisted for prestigious award

ASCENT HOMES’ FLAGSHIP DEVELOPMENT, WAYSIDE POINT, LOCATED ON THE FORMER ELLINGTON COLLIERY SITE, HAS BEEN SHORTLISTED IN ONE OF THE COUNTRY’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS PROPERTY AWARDS, THE RICS SOCIAL IMPACT AWARDS.

Wayside Point is a stunning development located in the picturesque former colliery village of Ellington, comprising 99 properties on phase 1 and a further 97 homes on phase 2, which will include 28 affordable homes delivered in partnership with Northumberland based housing provider, Bernicia.

The RICS Social Impact Awards showcase world class examples of how the built environment can have a direct positive social and environmental impact on society and take entries from across the country. Wayside Point has been shortlisted in the popular Residential category of the awards.

Ascent won the same category of the awards in 2018 for the Maltings development in Alnwick. This year they are once again up against strong competition from more established and larger developers in the category.

The winners for the North East round of the RICS Social Impact Awards are due to be announced in May.
