Ascent Homes scoops prestigious property award

NORTHUMBERLAND-BASED ASCENT HOMES, IS CELEBRATING A HUGE WIN ANNOUNCING IT HAS BEATEN OFF STRONG COMPETITION TO SCOOP THE COVETED ‘RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY’ AWARD, AT THE PRESTIGIOUS RICS RENAISSANCE AWARDS WHICH TOOK PLACE ON FRIDAY (20TH APRIL).

Ascent Homes received the award for its impressive and sensitive conversion of derelict buildings on the site of the former Alnwick Brewery, rejuvenating a site that was once considered a major blot on the landscape of Alnwick’s historic town centre.

Ascent Homes’ painstaking restoration and conversion of the site to create The Maltings, a development of 37 unique apartments and penthouses is, according to the RICS judges, an incredible achievement for the relative newcomer to the region’s property scene.

RICS judges said, ‘The project carefully balances the respectful restoration of a much-loved group of buildings with a finely engineered attention to detail in the delivery of breath taking contemporary loft apartments. The developer has bravely addressed the development challenge that must have seemed gargantuan at the outset.’

George Millar – Site Manager, Demi Chambers – Sales Executive, Ian Docherty – Site Manager, Pauline Coltherd – Sales Manager, Claire Scott – Head of Sales & Marketing

According to Ascent Homes’ head of sales and marketing, an ecstatic Claire Scott, The Maltings is not only a commercial success with only five properties remaining for it sale, it is a community success which will now represent the region at the national finals later this year.  She said:

“To say I am thrilled to receive this award is an understatement because it is such a prestigious accolade to be awarded to a company as young as Ascent Homes.  I’m incredibly proud of all the hard work and dedication that has gone into making the Maltings the success it has become.

“Furthermore, I’d really like to congratulate our sales executive responsible for selling the development, Demi Chambers, for the hard work she has put in to welcome residents of all ages in the way that she has. I believe this, coupled with the innovative design by architect, ID Partnership have been key factors in creating the palpable sense of community that all residents feel, living in The Maltings.”

RICS Renaissance Awards showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure as well as considering their impact on local communities. The Maltings will now compete in the National RICS Renaissance Awards which are due to take place in London in November 2018.
