It is close to Bedlington. We loved the show home so decided to move to Choppington. The bedrooms are a great size!

We loved the finish on the show home. The master bedroom sold the house for us. The price was really good for what you get. It is also great having a garage!

The price of the house. We also just wanted to be close to Bedlington & just loved the show house.

Our bedroom, our garden, the garage is huge. The layout flows really well. The bedrooms are a great size!

A little bit about you...
I am a single man in the last quarter of my life. I am a nurse by background and work mainly from home at the moment. I love the sea and the countryside and enjoy walking and an element of the quiet life. I love country towns where you find markets and unique shops.

What property type did you buy?
I bought the Elder, a four bedroomed house.

What was your reasoning for buying in the area?
I want to retire and live near the sea. This location is perfect for that with the sea just being a mile down the road. Not just by the sea, it is a stunning beach that is never that busy. There are lots of small towns and villages about and it is so close to the most beautiful countryside also.

Why did you choose Ascent homes as opposed to other builders?
I looked at a number of other developers in the area. I loved the quality of Ascent Homes and the style of the houses. I love the big windows that allow the light into the house and I liked the internal layout.

What was your main draw to the area and the development?
To be near the sea and the countryside and it is still only a relatively short drive or train journey to get to a big city like Newcastle. As I travel for work, Morpeth station lets me get to London in under 3.5 hours.

Where did you move here from/live previously?
I lived in Birmingham in a two-bed apartment. My quality of life has improved so much moving here. My mental health is so much better being able to take myself off for walks on the beach after a stressful day at work.

What’s your favourite thing about your new home?
I love the space in my new home. It is perfect for me. I have a utility room which is fantastic and enough bedrooms for when my friends come to visit that they can have their own privacy in their bedroom. Something not really possible when I had people to stay in my flat.

Tell us about your buying experience?
Sylvia was amazing and supportive throughout the whole buying experience. I had problems with the cladding on the sale of my flat which delayed the purchase of the first house I went to buy. Sylvia was so encouraging and helped me to sort out a new plot and kept me informed all along the way on the procedure for securing a new home. Even when I moved in she was able to help me – especially being new to the area with guidance on where to find suppliers for items in my home. The solicitor that she recommended was the best solicitor I have ever had for buying and selling and I have since recommended him to three of my friends.

Would you recommend Ascent Homes to other potential buyers?
I would and I have – my friends are now in the process of buying one of the houses behind mine. And I have introduced another two friends to the area and they are also considering buying here too.
